Can anyone identify this bunny/rabbit holding a halberd? I got it as part of a group of figures in a trade, and the original owner didn't remember where he got it.

I have a bunch of bunny minis from many makers, but that one's new to me. Are there any markings on the base? |

No, no marks on the bottom, other than where it was cut from the casting fill point. |

You know, I Googled "Rabbit with halberd" and "Bunny with halberd," and didn't get a match to this picture. There are quite a few drawings of rabbits with halberds, though, in case you need help when it comes to painting. Grelber |

Grelber- Thanks, but Ggogle was my first stop as well. I agree about the numerous illustrations of rabbits with halberds, particularly what appeared to be vintage drawings turned into modern rubber stamps. I'd love to know if there is some old legend connecting a halberd as a traditional weapon of rabbits in general or the Easter Bunny specifically. |

Just an educated guess here: It looks like it is part of a range we got from Reaper in the 90's. "Mouselings" (?) Same sculpting style and base design. Could have been from their old "Texas Miniatures" days. Ed Pugh from Reaper can best answer that question though. I can say that this casting is not among the masters I have. A very well done series of nicely detailled animal charactures. Among the series were a few rabbits. (like an Easter Bunny and one hoding a shotgun that I called "Where's Elmer?". My favorite was a mouse on an old fashioned scooter with a bulb horn! Hope this helps. Will definately see these back on the market when I can get stationed back home. Tom |

I pulled out my old Rodentails (Reaper's name for the Texas Miniatures bunnies) and the style and size are definitely similar. I really like the mouse on a scooter, too, Tom. He was labeled a Scout. Definitely post here on TMP when you make them available again. And hope you get stationed back home sooner rather than later. |
