My guess is no. Shall we try to find out? We'll need a comparable:

A. Didn't finish high school
B. Finished high school
C. Some college
D. Four year degree
E. Master's
F. Doctorate

(I know this is a horribly flawed methodology but the resulting data might be interesting.)

The Beast Rampant21 Oct 2015 11:41 a.m. PST

D: history with an art history minor.

Not to jack your thread…I have found that miniatures gaming has all educational levels…but a seemingly high level of discretionary income

Couple of AA's – Programming and Social Science (I honestly have no idea exactly what the second really means…)

Two classes taught at graduate level – so D I guess.

I notice you don't include technical degrees or other 2 year programs. I suspect some people would fit there as well.

In my opinion, the correlation is with personality type and not education or discretionary income.

Hmmmm. At our last game day on Saturday, I would say that close to 25% of the attendees still have not yet finished high school.

A scatter plot of "level" and "area" (which most people are providing) might be interesting.

Durban Gamer22 Oct 2015 6:56 a.m. PST

In my experience its a mistake to judge members by formal degrees. In the Durban Historygamers' club two of our most successful (in winning and in mastering rules) players have been B. Previous top player was an incredibly sharp youngster A. Nice that people from all walks of life can be brought together by a common interest.

In my experience its a mistake to judge members by formal degrees.

There's a big difference between demonstrating a correlation and attributing a causal effect. The patterns themselves could be interesting without any underlying meaning.

As are all my gaming friends, but that's maybe circumstantial working as we did for a large high tech defence R&D company that dominated employment in our home town.
