Hello from ArmiesArmy HQ!

Hot "literally" off the press is the first master casting of the VDI BMD 1. Its missing its hatches (which can be deployed open or closed and its options of ATGM. It really looking impressive and will go into production moulds next week, ready at the following weekend for sale. I also hope to have the ASU-85 ready as I've also got the master metal casting completed. The hull (which will be resin) is also off to the resin caster.

Ill be painting one or two of these up and shipping some for pro painting over the next day or two. Possibly…this evening as I cant wait :)

p.s

the infantry dollies were dropped off for casting today to :)

Cheers

Keith

Looks terrific!

Nice touch on the hatch and weapons options too.

So, exactly how long is that little BMD?

I can't wait, either.

Super doopa

Armiesarmy21 Oct 2015 10:36 a.m. PST

The size will scare you……

The real size will scare you! How they got in I have no idea :)

My 15mm version is 28.2 X 12 x 55.6 mm

pretty tiny really :) Which allows me to do it all in metal :)

Sorry to nag, but will infantry be ready to order at same time?

Just need to warn credit card

David Manley21 Oct 2015 12:34 p.m. PST

Lovely!

Hi gunner

It will sadly be slightly behind. Dollies are being cast this week, back to sculptor next, 2 weeks back to me, one week before production

Add a week for real life

No worries,
Will be patient

Bellbottom21 Oct 2015 3:30 p.m. PST

Any idea of proposed cost please?

Mako1121 Oct 2015 4:47 p.m. PST

Yep, I knew they were really small, but man, that is tiny.

Must hire 5' 0" guys and under to ride in them, when possible.

Also explains why I see so many riding on the top deck, instead, in Eastern Ukraine, in addition to wanting to avoid landmine detonations.

Nice

Oh no! More money I have to spend! A company of BMD's and a platoon of ASU-85's. My poor, poor credit card is going to burn up! But it says to Armies-Army, "We who are about to die, salute you!" So bring em on and I'll buy em as a Christmas present for myself! Merry Christmas and Air-mobile Operations – perhaps I missed the point of the holiday? But I can live with crass consumerism and military miniature obsession. So bring em on! Look'in forward to the purchase date, so keep us informed please!
Cheers and good gaming.

Is your ~4weeks prediction for the infantry just for VDV, or does that also include Swedes?

capt jimmi22 Oct 2015 2:33 a.m. PST

Really, really nice looking kit here ! … can't wait to see these on my desk.

Mako1122 Oct 2015 2:45 a.m. PST

Almost forgot to mention, I could really use these in 1/144th scale as well.

Armiesarmy22 Oct 2015 3:17 a.m. PST

Hi Lion

just vdi for the moment. I need investment :)

Armiesarmy22 Oct 2015 3:17 a.m. PST

more scales!!!!!

:)

Khusrau22 Oct 2015 5:44 a.m. PST

Nice.. I play 20mm so I am lucky to have available the very nice S-Model 2 kits for 15 bucks plastic model version. These look very goo, very similar.

Mako1122 Oct 2015 11:25 a.m. PST

Yep, or to look at it my way, more bang for your buck, on the same design, especially if the original was done with a computer mockup that can easily be rescaled, and reprinted.

;-)

Armiesarmy22 Oct 2015 1:01 p.m. PST

sadly to many other factors Mako

WIP of them :)

Lion in the Stars22 Oct 2015 6:12 p.m. PST

That's OK, I want some VDV anyway, and VDV can fight anyone in NATO (and a few that aren't).

Armiesarmy24 Oct 2015 4:03 a.m. PST

Exactly :)
