Menhir Games announced a new set of 1/72 levy men

"3D prints of what are going to be the "Levy Men": hard plastic, one piece medieval robust miniatures in the 1/72 "heroic" scale (about 22mm to eyes, 24mm to top of the head) And of course, this miniatures will come with a short, fast and uber easy to learn ruleset!"

Is it just me or does the spearman in kettlehelm dwarf the fella with the pitchfork ? Likewise the swordsman, he appears much bigger than the axeman.
If I was looking for 1/72 Levy I'd use the Strelets set, better consistency in size and probably a lot cheaper.

They look a bit basic..that pitchfork would weigh a ton in reallife, and if they are "hard plastic" why not make the weapons seperate..it would save the crossbowman having to hold the crossbow sideways.
Why have they compared them to 15mm and 28mm?? Maybe they should put their figs alongside some other common 1/72nd sets..

They look a bit like board game pieces. Maybe that the best 3D printing can do at that scale.

Sorry, not good enough.

1/72 has a big advantage – anatomical correctness (well, almost grin).

These do not work – remind me of Essex 15mm sculpts.

They DID say Heroic Scale! I think they look good. Like most figures, once paint is applied they will probably look the part.

I concur with Marc at work.

I am really sorrry, but most at PSR would be much better than those. :(

I'm with Marc at work.

The last thing wargaming needs IMHO is 20mm "Heroic"

I am sure Plastic Soldier Review will review these when/if they come out. I will wait until then.

Just wish there was a 25/28mm Plastic/Metal Soldier Review site …

@ Wesley.
IŽd like to see one as well..one for 1/72nd metal as well.
Not quite on the Level of what PSR does but thereŽs an attempt at a 25/28mm Review site (Blog)

Hello, i didnt saw this topic.. the miniatures are designed to be multipurpose (boardgame/wargame) for people that never played wargames and would like to try and get cheap METAL miniatures (for the metal version) or ROBUST ON PURPOSE PLASTIC pieces .. it is not for "hardcore wargamers" with stylised "true scale" 1/72 miniatures, i am aware of the posibilities of the scale.

Again, this product is for newcomers, to have 1 piece-not fragile-miniatures, not for the already crowded – with many companies making medieval miniatures- wargamer market/audience.

I really like them! Nice simple robust little medieval army men. If these are the right price I will certainly pick them up.
