There's a billion threads on this. Will TMP 4.0 include sticky threads? |

Dettol is freely available, just don't let it get into contact with water, it will just make a sticky mess. Try one figure as a test first. Soak overnight then gently scrub with an old toothbrush. Re-soak if need be. If they are metal figures I sometimes use paint stripper (Nitromors etc), just don't do it in the house. Sometimes both Dettol and Nitromors will have difficulty lifting some spray paint, probably primers which are designed to stay on the figure. All the above is not child or pet friendly. |

Good. Gently scrub the figure with an old toothbrush while still in the Dettol. Hold the figure with a pair of needle nose pliers. If there is resisting paint then continue to soak in a cleaner part of the Dettol The paint contaminated Dettol will still work but it becomes more difficult to see what is happening. Once you think the paint is largely gone then wipe the figure in some kitchen paper and then wash in warm soapy water to remove final traces of Dettol. Leave to dry for a day then undercuts and inspect. If OK then carry on. |

Be sure to wear rubber gloves while handling figures in Simple Green/Dettol. The liquid will strip the fat from your hands (painful, I speak from experience). |

One day you will find a paint/varnish combination that it will not work very well with. Most acrylics seem to come off quite easily. Enamels can resist a good bit more. Never tried it on oil paint. Some spray primers are untouchable. |
