I checked INDB and they were not any help. I was wondering if the anime Girls und Panzer was only the one season of 14 episodes or were there more? I did hear that a movie is in the works.

Jason O Mahony19 Oct 2015 7:27 a.m. PST

14 Episodes
7 Episode OVA (6 in 2012/2013 + 1 2014)

I will keep you updated, Owen. The missus has her ear to the ground when it comes to anime stuff, I trust she will find out.

Triplecdad17 Dec 2015 5:26 a.m. PST

Okay, never heard of this stuff, but watched the trailer. All I can say is what the Bleeped text is this? No, really, what the Bleeped text is this? Seriously? This isn't just some weird joke? Somebody actually produces this? There are multiple episodes and a movie? The apocalypse is upon us, and we deserve it.

mashrewba18 Dec 2015 8:49 a.m. PST

Indeed -and in amongst all this utter Bleeped text are these accurately drawn tanks -I had no idea the Char bis was so nippy!!! Honestly I thought Suckerpunch was absurd but this is ridiculous.

One does wonder about Japanese males when one sees this, but they're fun!

Its like someone use William Burroughs cut-up technique to produce a cartoon –

" World War Two tanks and …. Japanese school girls .
Yeah that will work ! "

Capt Flash04 Jan 2016 5:48 a.m. PST

The show
Looks
Like fun..
😎

If you like 'Girls und Panzer,' check out Kantai Collection (aka KanColle). In it Japanese WW2-era warships are re-imagined as schoolgirls.

No, really.

GuP is weird, but no weirder than the idea that a proper upper-class Japanese woman is supposed to be proficient with Naginata and bow, along with flower arranging, poetry, traditional and ballroom dance, and formal Imperial Court etiquette (all of which is true of the girls of the nobility today).

They just changed the weapons that a proper lady is supposed to be proficient with to get the story.

Bashytubits12 Mar 2016 9:39 p.m. PST

Girls und Panzer is merely World of Tanks with cute girls. This is not war, it is tankery. The Japanese confuse absurdity with cool, but the show is hilarious.

Thomas Nissvik15 Mar 2016 5:57 a.m. PST

The film is out now in Japan.

I love watching people encounter anime for the first time :-)

The series was well thought out with many tips to existing war movies. I started because of the tank drawings but loved all parts.

In trailer didn't see the StugIII and thought there was a British Cruiser mk III but will have to watch again

I thought I'd share Miho's Pz IV. Rabbit and Hippo teams are primed and on the painting board. Everything's in 1/87. The Pz IV is by yuunagi_dameya at shapeways (fearsomely expensive but very nice) and Miho is a commission from the very talented Zandoria (also on Shapeways).
