I previously posted here about a large 1809 Danube campaign our club is playing using the Blucher's Scharnhorst system. We just finished Turn 6 of 12 (halfway done!) and our first tabletop battle occurred. It was huge--over 150,000 troops on the field--and just so happened to take place on a very familiar battlefield. We are using Baccus 6mm miniatures for our battles. Stop by the club site and check out the campaign progress and a quick photo-AAR of the first engagement! link |

Looks great. I very much like your AAR's. |

Great stuff! How do you keep track of the stats when using minis? I couldn't see any markers on the paper signs for the brigades. |

Thanks guys. We use little paper labels on the back (as small as possible so as not to distract from the miniatures themselves) that shows the brigade name and parent corps. Then each player uses a roster that has a full OOB with all the information about unit strength, special traits, etc. I know some people aren't a fan of rosters, but I always prefer to use them vs. cluttering a nice tabletop with cards/markers/etc. |

Great-looking game. Thanks for the AAR. How many players, and how long did the game take? Chris |

Five players are in the campaign and four played in this first battle. We've been handling campaign map movement using Vassal online and the battle took a total of maybe four hours to play. It was a fairly large engagement in Blucher terms--over 80 brigades on the field. |

Great campaign. What do you think about Scharnost system, I am really interested in this rule. |
