Alan Moorehead's Gallipoli while old now is well regarded. I believe it is on the US marines professional reading list.

Different question: what are you looking for/hoping to satisfy yourself about? There is a very large library on the subject, not all equally worthwhile.

But stuff by Ed E is worth pursuing.

A couple of good books out lately from the Ottoman POV. One by Mehmet Uyar, the title escapes me and they are all in at the library at work. Uyar is a Professor in Ottoman History at ADFA and a previous Turkish Military Officer. Erickson is also good and fairly focussed on the Turkish side.
There was another Australian published one that was very intense.
I won't be back at the library until Thursday but I will look them up then.

Bob

I am going on a short trip there this coming weekend, and I want a couple of books for kindle reading.

Les Carlyon is probably the most up-to-date from the Australian POV, without getting distracted by the 'British generals are donkeys' debate.
