Thanks BigRedBat, the transfers save so much time and add that extra punch to the figures. The customer collected them and I am pleased to say he is very happy with end result! So he is happy, I'm happy what more could you ask for. |

Very nice. I have to ask a couple of technical questions, what colour of red did you use? Am I correct that you used a "dip" – if so, was it Army Painter? Or? What shade was it? (I like the black of it and of how it settled in the recesses.) Did you brush it on? |

Hi wmyers, most of my painting is done with washes and then layering. The figure was sprayed black due to the chainmail, not my usual choice of undercoat. OK the red is Vallejo flat red. I base coated the red areas with Red gore GW, washed over with Agrax earth shade GW. Then re apply Red gore, then add flat red for first highlight, then pure flat red and finally add a tad of orange for final highlight. The tunic colour is Vallejo Iraqui sand, then wash over Ogryn flesh Gw. Re apply Iraqui sand and add white to highlight. The washes are all brushed on it seems to give more control. I have never used dips! I've never being happy with just one choice of colour for shading although that is just my own preference. Hope that helps, any more questions just let us know Cheers for now Russ |
