PaperTerrain is pleased to announce our soon to be released set of paper Napoleonic miniatures! We are doubly pleased to also announce that these miniatures have been specifically designed for use with Sam Mustafa's exciting rules set, "Blucher". We are currently working to produce the French, British, and Prussian armies from the 1815 Hundred Days Campaign. While these full color miniatures could be used with any rules set, they will fit Blucher's rules and order of Battle exactly. D'Erlon's I Corps:
Blucher's rules uses brigades as the basic unit (regiments for the Prussians) and we will have the figures to represent every brigade in the campaign.
The miniatures themselves are about 10mm scale and detailed enough to pick out all the multitude of different and colorful uniforms of the era. Line and Light
Hussars, Chasseurs and Lancers
Artillery and much more.
Basing is up to you, but here we are using 3" x 4" bases so that the unit cards for Blucher can be attached to the bottom with double stick tape.
Many of the symbols on the Blucher unit cards are duplicated with the miniatures: Skirmishers
Square markers
And you can even denote special mixed infantry/cavalry forces like von Steinmetz's 1st Prussian Brigade
The Prussians and French are just about complete and we are working on the British. Part of the Prussian I Corps
Halket's 5th British Brigade
These will be perfect for anyone interested in getting into Napoleonics. Full-color, already 'painted' armies for a small fraction of the money and time of metal miniatures. We plan to have the entire set available before Christmas (2015!) And if this first release is successful it will be followed by other campaigns from the Napoleonic Wars (I think probably the 1809 Campaign will be next). Watch for more announcements! paperterrain.com |

They look ghastly. Sorry, but they do. |

I like 'em….are they mounted on something? The figures themselves appear to be glued to some kind of backing…. |
ScottWashburn | 18 Oct 2015 4:03 p.m. PST |
Raylev3, They come printed on heavy cardstock. You fold them over so the front face is glued to the back face. The bottoms fold outward to give you a little mounting stand. They are really quite sturdy. |

Definitely not for everyone. On the other hand, if I could afford to do much of 1809, then a lot more interest on my part. |

Will they come on card stock Scott? How much$$$? Really cool Clif |
ScottWashburn | 18 Oct 2015 4:59 p.m. PST |
Clif, The pre-printed sets will come on cardstock, yes. Ready to cut out, fold, glue and use. I am SERIOUSLY thinking about also releasing these as PDFs (a first for PaperTerrain) and then people can print them out however they want. As for the price, I'm not sure yet. The full Waterloo set will be BIG! I can fit about two brigades on a single letter-sized sheet and Sam's Waterloo set has 164 brigade and battery cards. So that's 82+ sheets with a lot of toner on each sheet. I'm going to have to give it some thought. |

Probably the only way I'd ever field forces for that conflict. |

Probably the only way I'd ever field forces for that conflict. I'd have to come up with GSD files for my Silhouette robocutter, though… that's way too many pages to be hand-cutting. |

Scott, I would be very interested in these – and would place another vote in favour of the pdf option. I would also be interested in 1809 and a couple of the big Peninsular actions. Best, Jon |

Jon, Yes, I think the PDF option is going to be necessary. I'll have the hardcopy option, too, but this is going to be a lot of sheets! 1809 will be next. You may have to twist my arm for the Peninsula. :) And of course future projects will depend on how successful these first ones are. |

I had been hoping you would be producing some napoleonics for a while now. The simple reason is that my destructive kids are not getting near my armies just now. They enjoyed playing with the pirate ships I bought them and I'm hoping Blucher could be a way to introduce them to Naps. Looking forward to seeing teh final product. David |

Well, a LOT of people came by to look at my Napoleonics at Fall-In! this past weekend. Many positive comments! I'm pumped to get this on the market. Hopefully before the end of December. |

Just a quick update: Still working away on these. The Prussians are finished except for some instruction sheets. The French are nearly done (working on the Imperial Guard right now). Still a fair amount to do on the British. But I've got nearly two weeks off from my real job coming up so I hope to get a lot done and have them ready for release in January. |

Hi Scott I vote for pdf option too… The cavalry will be front faced or long? |
ScottWashburn | 19 Jan 2016 6:21 p.m. PST |
There will definitely be a PDF option (if I can figure out how to do it). The cavalry will be front on. It's way easier to assemble and base. Side-on cavalry you end up cutting out each and every horse and rider. I want these sets to be user friendly :) |

I can't wait to have them! huge and great job, Scott! |
