A straightforward poll question, for post-WWII, Cold War era Soviet Armor (1950s – 1980s). Which manufacturer and paint color(s) do you prefer for Soviet Armor Green, in an enamel paint (don't worry, there'll be a separate poll for acrylics)? |

In the past I have used Humbrol Napoleonic French Artillery Green, dry brushed with a very light sand to highlight |

Thanks for the suggestion. Other possible enamel paint colors include: Xtracolor paint range – X811 Russian Tank Green Testor's Model Master Russian Armor Green – #4807 (or 2129? – not sure why two different item numbers are showing up on-line) Humbrol 117 Humbrol 86 Tamiya Lacquer Spray Paint? I also ran across this, and think it may apply to the later modern camo. variants with the sand and green colors, since in those patterns, the green used by the Soviets appears to me to be more olive green (yellow-ish green in color, and the solid colored vehicles which seem to me to be more blue-green in color): "The olive is basically FS34079 green with a tinge of FS34087 olive drab, or in some cases what appears to be straight OD". |

4807 is acrylic and 2129 is enamel. Same color in name anyway, haven't looked at anything painted by each side by side. |

Thanks for the clarification. In the images and text I was seeing on Yahoo, it didn't break them out that way, and all seemed to be enamels, so I thought perhaps they had several codes like the Vallejo acrylics do. |
