Is it just me or do those basic pouched look too low down. When I wore webbing, the basic pouch had the belt clips about halfway and the rest was hooked up to the shoulder harness.

When I wore the webbing (cadets in the '70s) they did indeed sit above the belt.

Very nice figures, though.

That would be '58 pattern webbing, so they're about the right level on the belt:
