I still have some white paints that have to be layered on – even over gray. What brand is your favorite white in terms of simple, one-application coverage?

Army Painter?
Games Workshop?

Apple Barrel cheap craft paints. The various whites are one-coat coverage over dark primer, dark colors, and metallics. Sometimes really bright yellows require a little extra work.

I don't have any problem putting one coat of Vallejo white over Vallejo Stone Grey.

Seriously this is difficult and I don't have an answer. I tried the GW base coat (foundation ?) but no better than Vallejo.

Vallejo VMC Ivory is very good. You could try that and then pure white only on top for highlights.

LIquitex Parchment – then you can highlight with Titaniim white if required.

Ceramcoat antique white, its more towards a very light cream color, but appears to be white on the figure.
