Fascinating! Thanks so much for posting.

All that armor, and the airbase looks awesome.

Not much cover to hide behind.

Someone needs to give that Hind a Viagra pill, or two, since that rotor droop is just sad.

Thanks for sharing.

Lots and lots of thanks for posting.

Wowsers for sure. Loving the colour printout of the rules (inside joke). Having only seen poor pics of all the SPAT, I'm very impressed by the models though slightly disappointed that they're resin. Loving the detail, but I may end up getting the zvezda models if they end up cheaper.

Looks like all air assets are 1/100 scale too. Still trying to figure out the Hind rotors.

I've been waiting a looooong time for this, but I think McWong's FoW retirement is coming to an end in 2016. Just need to avoid spending the next five years as a TO and actually play the game at cons in Sydney!

Mako1115 Oct 2015 6:13 p.m. PST

Yea, I thought that was probably the case about the aircraft, which is fine by me.

Helos need clear rotor disks, but those will be a challenge to keep from drooping too, I suspect.

I hope they produce an AH-1S Cobra soon.

The owner of the Hind obviously has no shame

GGouveia15 Oct 2015 7:47 p.m. PST

That looks very good.

Dammit! That looks great – looks like I'll be forced to spend a lot of money!

Seeing the cards in use makes me wonder how big they are, and whether they'll fit in standard size card protectors? If not, will there be custom card protectors offered? The cards in use here seem to be just laminated, but if the card is thick, that might not be optimal for the production version?

I wouldn't worry too much about the Hind rotors – hard plastic ones simply don't droop like that – I'd take very short odds that those are resin pre-production models, and the finished article will be rather more, umm, upstanding.

PS – Great video thanks – nice to get a good look at everything. :-)

Great stuff. Lovely table and miniatures.

But…

15mm is just too big for this. Yeah, I'm going 6mm. I'm still getting some stuff for my 15mm skirmish games though!

Interesting to see, nice models.

Looking at the book there appears to be some back ground, history etc. How will they transition from "Team Yankee" Orbats and TO&E to the historical TO&E? Or will they keep 8GA and 1 GTA with some fantasy TY and the rest of GSFG historical or will they make up orbats and TO&E for the rest of GSFG?

Looking forwards to a spotty little wargamer briefing me on GSFG based on his TY book!!

Tally Ho!

Yeah, you're best to make your peace with that mate…

Navy Fower Wun Seven17 Oct 2015 2:36 p.m. PST

Well, on the positive side, would that spotty little wargamer even have heard of the GSFG if it wasn't for Battlefront and TY?

Looks ok, I will be sticking with 20mm if I give it a crack, to heavily invested in terrain and figures already

On the battle front site they confirmed a lot of the kit was still resin prototypes as Dom suggested. Plastic should be fine

Mako1118 Oct 2015 8:03 a.m. PST

A bit of piano wire, AKA spring steel rod inserted into the rotor blade molds when they are being cast (preferably), or glued to their undersides afterwards, should help with the rotor droop, and make that look a lot better.

nickinsomerset18 Oct 2015 11:40 a.m. PST

Plastic rotors on 20mm stuff is good, so should be fine for 15mm, then if one is feeling adventurous some plastic discks!

Tally Ho!

Now Hips and Hooks would be interesting
