Hello I put some pictures of the finished city. This model is a representation of the city of Havana in the year 1762. The model is made to scale 1/1200 using Langton miniatures brand.
The dimensions of the model is approximately 40 x 35 cm
The model is a representation, it is not accurate to reality, made to play naval wargames.
I hope you like it,
Julián

What's not to like? That is fantastic! What scale of people did you use in the streets?

Thank you all for your compliments! Now I have to finish fort Morro and Fort Punta.

MacrossMartin15 Oct 2015 4:21 a.m. PST

That is quite remarkable. It wouldn't look out of place in a professionally built museum display.

One thing though – how on earth do you dust a model like that??

yarr6815 Oct 2015 5:29 a.m. PST

Superb!!!

Julian, you never cease to astound me. The Eduard figures do not look like the flat featurless figures I bought. And how in the world did you get the children in the 11th photo? I have not seen 1/800 scale children from Eduard.
Bravo.

Hello Vol,
thank you!
I add a link of Ebay where you can buy Eduard 1/800
auction

Just superb… absolutely inspiring work.

Volunteer Fezian16 Oct 2015 6:22 a.m. PST

Thanks Julian, I already have an Eduard source, but where did you get the children? None of these you linked to have children figures.

ModelJShip16 Oct 2015 5:37 p.m. PST

Children??? Where are there children??? ;-)

Volunteer Fezian17 Oct 2015 9:07 a.m. PST

Photo 11 from the top, by the church, there are two figures half the size of the two figures to the laft. They appear to be children. If it is unintentional it is a good effect.

ModelJShip18 Oct 2015 12:34 p.m. PST

Vol, It has been unintentionally. ;o)

Thank you for all your comments!!!

Beautiful, inspirational stuff, and painted in exactly the right manner to pull the whole together. The colours would be equally suitable for S. Europe and even much of France over the last 300 years, and your treatment of the buildings means is the eye is not distracted by minor differences in scale or texture.

I use 3mm buildings, even some 2mm, with 6mm troops. I've got scads of Langton houses waiting for painting, and there's even quite a lot of variation between their different ranges. I recognise several pieces in your miniature Havana.

Now the question: alongside your exquisite fortifications, are going to be marketing your own buildings? The cathedral, for example. If not, please think again …

ModelJShip17 Nov 2015 1:22 p.m. PST

Laretenue: We will make a range of colonial houses and cathedrals. For now we are making forts.

Thank you!

Best regards,
Julián
