I was looking at West Wind figures offered by Okd Glory for the long time. How are the rules? |

I looked into it a few years ago but found only bad press. See this thread: TMP link |

I can't speak about Lucifer Wars specifically, never having seen it, but will say Westwind had a very bad reputation for publishing rules that showed evidence of little or no proofreading. Reading some of them, like Gothic Horror, became a little like dipping into arcane texts found in some abandoned crypt: one felt there were treasures buried within the confusing script and random tables if only an illuminati would come by and decipher them--which is a shame, because the GH rules were actually quite good. So my advice is approach with caution. |

Don't know the rules but I've got several of the figs and they're pretty good. |

Any there other rules for the "period"? |

You have quite a few options. All of these rules seem popular: Chaos in Carpathia (Quick and fun; available from Old Glory) Empire of the Dead (very much faction based--Old Glory) Witchfinder General (set in the 17th century--I've never played them, but people rave about this set of rules; it's a nice book, I can tell you that!) So there's a start. Happy hunting! |

Avoid them. They are awful, as are all the other West Wind rules from that time. |

Ganesha Games has a couple of nice, simple horror rules sets. |

Savage Worlds is nice. Chaos in Carpathia as well. |

In Her Majesties Name with the upcoming Gothic supplement would work. |
