Hello from ArmiesArmy HQ Just thought Id let you know the latest news on my cold war line and share some 'pictures' As I mentioned I am creating a number of dollies which will allow me to master mould in metal and then use as bases for churning out a number of troop types. Well…here are a few pictures of the dollies which are heading to the master mould maker. These include Sov and Nato dollies
Also included in the dollies are a number of appropriate weapons which will be used and a number of heads'helmets.
On the vehicles I also have the BDM and ASU-85 heading to the master mould maker and I hope to show copies next week. I may end up going with an all metal casting for the BDM due to the size of it and then its all in my own control and it keeps cost lower.
Hope you like them. Ill be posting pictures of the heads and weapons up over the next couple of days thanks armiesarmy.com Keith |

Looks and sounds great! An all metal BDM would be preferred too. I suspect you might be able to make the ASU-85 hollow as well, perhaps with a floor plate, if you think that is necessary, so you can produce that in all metal less expensively too. |

Any idea when they will be ready to be ordered ? |

Errr, that should be BMD. Nah, never too big. They used to even make cast-metal real ones, at 1:1 scale, eons ago. |

They used to even make cast-metal real ones, at 1:1 scale But they were made from tin foil. Hopefully Keith's will be stronger! |

You say BMD …I say BDM and some times BMD……which is obviously correct :) The BMD will be metal, however the ASU will be in resin. Its basically a case of costs. If the metal is cheaper or equal then Ill do it in metal. If metal becomes more expensive Ill go in resin :) logistics and all that. Ill have the master copies of the BMD and ASU next week. Tweak and clean and then masters go back to mould maker for production. So we are talking BMD 2 weeks from Monday. ASU around the same time. Infantry dollies mastered next week and back to sculptor for finishing. Then back to mould maker for mastering, back to me to cast and create masters for production , then back to mould maker …..lots of of processes! Id guess about a month given I do this as my other job :) |
