I posted on the Marketplace but I've got another question for all. I've got Foundry 10 Troopers in need of mounts. The saddles are cast to the figs, so I need horses with just bridals. In case I don't get any response's, does anyone know if the Front Rank Light Cavalry Horses would work in a pinch? link Or anyone have a better idea? Thanks in advance, Peter |

Front Rank should work. They have some very nice galloping poses. |

I looked at the Front Rank horses, or at least a few, and they were with double reins. U.S. Cavalry did not use double reins at this time. That may not matter to you, though. The halter and headstall look pretty good, but there are a few minor differences. I have no idea how they would fit size wise. Tom |

The horses above are used by many manufacturers of 28mm Napoleonics. I can think of four offhand. I have never been convinced, since we first saw the masters. The front and rear ends belong to two different horses. A very Heavy Cavalry chest, on a Light cavalry rear end. In ranks they are not so obviously disproportioned. They could have been wonderful, as they are very well cast…but…….. |

Old Glory uses the same horses for most of their 28mm mounted, with reins cast on the horse, and the saddles cast to the rider. Perhaps someone has extras for you. |

Thanks everyone! Someone has PM'd me that may have a few spares, if I need more, looks to me that Front Rank may be the way to go. Again, Thanks! |

I saw these Foundry figures are for sale on ebay. You would have to get the Hussars as well though to get the 12 horses. auction |

Snag is that you have to grind off all the saddlery for figures that come with that cast as a single piece. Now, with a Dremel and a suitable shaped tulip shaped head that is easy to do…………but it does require that extra work. Great value though……..ACW cavalry are good suggestion as least to remove of any range |

These are a bit light on kit, but they may be serviceable. link |
