Does anyone produce Seven Years War-era cuirassiers in 54mm or 1/32nd scale, preferably in plastic?

I'd like to build a unit of 8 mounted Russian cuirassiers.

I'd thought conversions of either "A Call To Arms" Napoleonic French curiassiers or carabiniers might work, but the uniforms look too different, even with swaps to heads wearing tricorn hats.

Any other recommendations? Sadly, I'm not very accomplished using "green stuff."

It is a very impressive figure though.

You might also check the del Prado line for less expensive metals on the off chance they have something you can use.

Thank you all for the feedback and suggestions!

dBerczerk;

Your best alternative may be using a set of moulds from Prince August and casting your own. They will still require some conversion, as Prince August only do the standard bearer, but you could also get a couple of their Prussian Infantry moulds and get your conversion parts. If you've never hand-casted before its not tough and PA has all kinds of online videos with tips. They would, of course, be metal instead of plastic, but this may be your best alternative and you can cast as many as you like.

Del Prado also did exactly one (1) Prussian Cuirassier Officer at the Battle of Leuthen that is in a decent pose and could obviously be repainted. I haven't found them at the usual Del Prado dealers, but they do turn up on eBay at reasonable prices. It was in their Cavalry Through the Ages range. Here's one on eBayUK at the moment:

Hope this helps with your quest!

AIP American Revolution cavalry with Helmet cuirasses? link

helmetsoldiers.co.uk

Italeri French Napoleonic Dragoons (now back in production by Waterloo 1815) ditto (I did this for some Nap Austrian Cuirassiers)

Supreme/Tiger French Cavalry ditto. (very cheap figures) stores.ebay.co.uk

Helmet do all the parts to make them, except the tricorne but that's easy from a hole-reinforcer and greenstuff.

I did also make cuirasses from modelling putty but the Helmet ones are so cheap it wasn't worth it!
