A post with my two regiments of Kentucky Volunteers by Old Glory. One infantry and one cavalry unit. Nice Old Glory figures. Not a goofy figure amongst them. My only complaint with them is the ten figure cavalry bags from OG. I wish there were twelve miniatures and not ten. link

Cheers from across the ditch! A solution- buy 6 bags = 5 units …. 8^) Never can have too much Kaintuck' militia! And great modelling of a period I enjoy reading about! Have a great day, FPR |

Dumb question? Are they 15mm or 28mm? They look awesome! |

One suggestion to get your 12, is to add 2 figures in US Regular uniform as some sources indicate that officer wore that uniform You could switch heads with an infantry figure to make them 100% correct link |

Toronto48 – I was thinking of that but I was more thinking about regular cavalry units. For example, I wanted a British light dragoon unit. I want it to be useful for my other Napoleonic games where most cavalry units are twelve figures. For the War of 1812 I will live with slightly smaller units (figure-wise) than I would have otherwise wanted. |

Note that the Kentucky Mounted Volunteers was a large cavalry unit, especially for the NA Theater. (1,000 IIRC). |

Those are great! Well done! Knuckleduster have similar models that are very comparable in size, and I think sold in smaller packages. I use a mix of Knuckleduster and Old Glory for my North American War of 1812 skirmish games, and while a purist might find the subtle differences in the size/bulk of the figures between the two manufacturers, I think they pair rather well. |

@michaelsbagley – Cheers. I have lots of Forrest's cowboys but none of the War of 1812 figures. I am no purist so happily mix figures from different manufacturers within units. |

Frank; Olivier's War of 1812 Uniform Site has a Kentucky uniform plate with uniforms and and two flags… State flag and a volunteer flag. The problem is that the site is a risk from a security software view. So beware. history-uniforms.over-blog.com If you do not have success let me know here with your email address and I can send a copy in Word Format. P.S. The Flag Dude has a set of Kentucky flags in 28mm and probably other scales. |
