What are my options for French Cold War Infantry in 6mm, 1/285 or 1/300?

I couldn't find anything looking at H&R, Scotia, or Irregular. GHQ has very modern French, but I'm hoping more for 1975 to 1982ish troops. Nothing for CinC either.

Am I missing anybody or something on one the sites that I've looked at?

Thanks,
irishserb

In 6mm, it may not really matter, since they're so small.

Minifigs makes 12mm French troops, though if like some of the others, they may be too late for the period you desire. Don't know much about the French, I'm afraid, but they have a pic on-line, so you might take a look, if skirmish battles will work for you.

I would go with the Heroics and Ros West German infantry and paint them as French. For Vehicles I would definitely go GHQ and PFC in C.
I don't know if this will help but here is an organizational guide in PDF it has some photos of the French forces in the 1980s.

My French, based around 1980, use H&R US infantry. The H&R French vehicle range is, in my opinion, very good.

My Operation Daguet (Desert Storm) force uses H&R US infantry.

Thanks guys.

I have thousands of 1/285 models already, so I'm committed to that approximate scale. As I was sorting through stuff recently, it occurred to me that I have rarely used my French micro armor. I then realized that it was because I don't have any cold war era French infantry, thus my question here.

The FAMAS is distinctive enough that I was hoping (mis-remembering) that H&R had them. Though the FAMAS is mostly wrong for the period that I intend to represent. I like the idea of using West Germans, as I can believe that the H&K rifles are Sig540s. I'll have to look and see if any of the H&R infantry carry anything that looks sort of like the MAS49/56, maybe that will be an option too.

Then again, they are 6mm, so I'm probably shouldn't get too wrapped up in it.

Thanks again, I appreciate the help.

I used Main Force West Germans for mine – being prone, the rifle shape becomes pretty irrelevant, so they look fine as stand-ins.

GHQ'S Third World Warriors won't work?

Mainforce make modern French, that I think are not ultra modern as they have .50 cals as support.

Those are actually the German figures that I use – I guess they also decided they work fine as French proxies and stuck them in a company pack. :-)
