My son heads out on 12/12 for a 9 month tour. I'd prefer we let whatever mess the Afghans want to create for themselves sort itself out and get the heck out yesterday. |

Looks like the US is going to keep troops in A'stan until 2017. Some 98,000 … Based on the POTUS & Sec Def speeches just today. At advise of the US militaries' leadership … looking at what happened in Iraq. Also they will ask other NATO allies to join in as well to this extended mission to 2017. I don't think in the long run, it will make a difference. Look at all the training and support that has already been done. As well as the deaths to NATO troops. All trying to make the ANA/ANP a viable force to combat the Taliban. Along with this, the US needs to stop sending millions of $$$ to the Paks. Who are supporting the Taliban, still … |

Sometimes people express views that exasperate, dismay or infuriate me but I have yet to stifle anybody. I have been stifled but can't imagine why – I suppose that is a common enough sentiment. We disagree often but always civilly so far which I hope will continue. |
