Not useless – a tank is a still a tank.

Awesome model, I have 3, along with some type 95's….

I believe they proved to be quite effective in Malaya, Burma, and the Philippines in '41 and '42…

You are really looking at a tank which is only useful for harassing unsupported infantry. The armour is mediocre and bolted, even HMG's and ATR's will stop it. The gun is low velocity and there is no co-ax. It's,few, successes where more the products of it's opponent's flaws than it's advantages.

Good for opening coconuts apparently. They're going to be up against Stuarts…

Nice model funny people seem to think that it has to be a good tank to be worthy of praise.

For its time and its opponents, not such a bad tank. Low velocity gun packed a reasonable punch with HE and given it was intended to support infantry it could lay down a decent amount of firepower between that and the MGs. Given the main opponent for the IJA was always the Chinese, then not a useless weapon at all.
