Here are some pictures from the game I ran with the assistance of my buddy Chip. I had been away from conventions due tot he Navy taking me to Hawaii (not many miniatures cons – and I couldn't bring my stuff) and Washington State (Sea duty – always seemed to be deployed when Enfilade rolled around). It felt great to get a big game together again.

Sorry this took so long to upload, but I have been lazy…

Anyways, this game was a modern extension of our regular Pulp games. It was a (semi)cooperative game featuring a eclectic group of heroes trying to stop a horde of cultists from opening a gate to some other plane of existence. The players did not know what would happen if the gate opened, but they could assume it would not be good.

The heroes had 4 to 6 characters and featured:
The A-Team
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Scooby Doo and Company
THe X-Files
The Ghostbusters
The Men in Black
The Army (the cast of Stripes)
Hellboy and the BPRD

Some memorable events/Quotes:
"Well it looks like Scooby has a taste for human flesh now" after Scooby takes care of a cultist.

Officer Tackleberry and a the members of an after-school karate club sweep thru Weird Pete's Game Pit and find a tentacled horror in the back room.

The EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle constantly failing its mechanical reliability roll and having to call in a tech rep and the A-team to fix it.

the A-team Van crashing thru the gates at 1313 Mockingbird lane and trying to run over as many cultists as possible before running off with the gold.

Cordelia Chase successfully seducing Walter Peck the EPA agent so he would leave the Ghostbusters alone.

Shaggy getting some free booze from the hillbillies and their still in the back of the Sanford and Son salvage yard.

Anyways, here are some more pics from the game:

That's an amazing looking game! Sounds like a lot of fun as well. I love your painting style--very effective!

Thanks for all of the kind words! This game was a blast to put on.

In future episodes of "Action Hour" (our hodge-podge of rules) I am thinking about the following casts:
Sam and Dean from Supernatural
The Halliwell Siters from Charmed
Kolchak: The Night Stalker
GI Joe
Cobra
Dr Strange
Dr Fate

Any other contenders?

Popeye and company (seen the figures at a con)

and all the doctors as all of them and thier companions are out.

Hope and crosby and lamor.

If you look closely in some of the crown scenes you see the UNIT van parked next to the van from the Banzai Institute (hey – there is another cast!). You may also be able to see all of the doctors and most of the companions scattered around too (there is a sign for a Cosplay Contest on one of the street corners)…

Impressive, m0st assuredly Impressive…

For a Tactical Support Team, how about Squad 51 (Roy and Jonnie) assisting the Medical Examiner team (Dr. Quincy & Sam), with backup provided by unit 1-Adam-12 (Officers Reed & Malloy) and a couple of California Highway Patrol officers (Poncharello & Baker). Undercover agents Hayes, Pete Cochran, and Julie Barnes aka the Mod Squad, may have to break cover with the gang they've infiltrated to weigh in against the threat.

Alex757,

What size table was that? . . . It looked amazing!

Also what were the main sources for your buildings, sir?

It was a 5x8 table.

The plastic buildings are a mixture of plasticville model RR buildings.

The shop rowhouses were PDF printouts on a foamboard shell. The PDFs are free and available from:

Awesome Game. The guys from the Hawks ran a game with the cast of Big Bang Theory dressed as folks going to a Star Trek Convention. Thanks for the great pictures.

capncarp14 Oct 2015 5:25 p.m. PST

I'm gonna hafta hang out with the HAWKS more, to have more of their ideas to work off of.
