I'm speedpainting a 15mm League of Augsburg Army and compare different castings.
In my blog I wrote a comparative review with pictures: amsterdam6shooters.nl/node/416

The MY figures are characterful and initialy I thought they would mix well enough with my Essex and Irregular figures. On further consideration they mostly don't. Seperate bases might be ok. Also I found the horses a bit small.

I really like the Essex horse and if you mix the packs you get all the variety you could want.

That said I've come to prefer Irregular infantry to the Essex ones mainly because of pose and variety. As this review shows they mix well and can be used on the same base should you wish.

The Lurkio figures don't look right to me in terms of clothing and proportions. The head size is just too big.

Excellent read, good comparisons and some good tips. Also the Mick Yarrow link, never seen those figures before.

Informative and helpful thanks.

Contrary to your viewpoint, I think it's proportion and pose that stand out at typical tabletop viewing distances; detail only becomes obvious on closer inspection. Of the three brands the Irregular figures are the most realistically posed and proportioned in terms of both anatomy and clothing, so if I was doing the period in 15mm it's they I'd opt for. The relatively much lower price helps too, of course.
