"Putin's air campaign in Syria is not only supporting Assad, it's giving cover to fighters from the so-called Islamic State. Last June, the U.S. embassy in Damascus accused Bashar al-Assad's air force of clearing a path for an ISIS advance on Syrian rebels in the Aleppo town of Azaz. "Reports indicate that the regime is making air strikes in support of [ISIS's] advance on Aleppo, aiding extremists against Syrian population," the embassy account tweeted, following up with a broader accusation: "We have long seen that the regime avoids [ISIS] lines, in complete contradiction to the regime's claims to be fighting [ISIS]." Now Russia seems to have inherited Assad's role as the unacknowledged air force of ISIS…" Full article here link Daily Mail: Terrifying footage of Russian Hind helicopter gunships firing rockets at 'US-backed Syrian rebels' who claim attacks on them are making ISIS STRONGER link YouTube link Amicalement Armand |

No harm in that but as the Russians are bombing ISIS HQ for the third day I'd say not. |

I mean, there's Chechnyan separatists among the ISIS crew. How much do you think the Russians are liking them? |

Experts believe now the moslems/Chechnyans in Russia may start to cause more problems there in the Motherland. With the Russian deployment and combat in Syria. So we'll see … The Russian ROE in general may prove to be somewhat more effective … than the West's ? A lot more CD most likely … in any event. |

If killing more civilians is the key to winning the war, I imagine Assad would have won it already. |

If killing more civilians is the key to winning the war No it's not … but if they don't really care. They will frequently kill both combatants and non-combatants alike. As we know the insurgent hides and moves among the populous in hamlets, vills, towns, etc., full of civilians … The attrition may eventually effect the insurgent … but again … I said "may" … There are a number of variables that may effect this situation. |
