What is your favorite miniature wargaming website or blog, which is no longer active?

Augustus09 Oct 2015 10:58 a.m. PST

Maj. Gen. Tremorden Reddering's Colonial Page.

I have to agree with everyone else

Ragbones09 Oct 2015 11:47 a.m. PST

At the risk of being repetitive, the Major General's page.

I'd also like to see more from a couple sites that haven't necessarily gone away but don't appear to have been updated in forever: The Red Shadow's page and the Jackson Gamer's Colonial page. Both contain terrific battle reports.

Mute Bystander09 Oct 2015 11:49 a.m. PST

Maj. Gen. Tremorden Reddering's Colonial Page.

Quite a loss for many gamers…

Bashytubits09 Oct 2015 12:15 p.m. PST

I have to agree as well. Major General if you are seeing this, PLEASE come back.

Allen5709 Oct 2015 12:50 p.m. PST

Major General is tops followed by the original Stronghold site.

Snapdragon/Moondragon…the site can be accessed, but not the wonderfully characterful terrain…none really like it since. Unique.

moondragons.com

The site has not had an update since 2010. Hope Kerry is doing OK.

Florida Tory09 Oct 2015 2:29 p.m. PST

The good Major General's site.

Does MagWeb count?

epturner09 Oct 2015 2:39 p.m. PST

Major General's, followed by MagWeb…

I was a fan of Dan Schorr's Northern Wars site.

The Colonel's page as everyone mentioned abobe. Also, I'll second Witchhunter.net.

Didn't Sascha Herm's site fade away too?

Tony S09 Oct 2015 3:16 p.m. PST

Yes, yes, the Major General's…but also

wargames@nordalia.com. I loved their Firefight series.

Major General's, followed by MagWeb…

I agree with that.

mjkerner09 Oct 2015 4:20 p.m. PST

Reddering, Magweb, and The Red Shadow (I think it's still "there" but hasn't been active for ages).

I still miss the old Wargames Directory, but feel obliged to add to the cacophony lamenting the Major General's retirement.

Shaun Travers09 Oct 2015 7:19 p.m. PST

MagWeb – i still miss it years and years on.

Mooseworks809 Oct 2015 9:02 p.m. PST

The Stronghold

Old Contemptibles09 Oct 2015 9:14 p.m. PST

MagWeb – I also miss it. What a tragic loss.

The Major General etc., although it's not being added to, is still available on Web archive via Zeitcom. Google Tremorden Rederring.

My favourite as well

I'd echo MagWeb… :)

Timmo uk10 Oct 2015 2:35 p.m. PST

The original 'green' Wargames Directory back in the day when you didn't even have to register to post. It could be a bun fight at times but there was a lot of great discussion as well.

CeruLucifus11 Oct 2015 10:03 a.m. PST

Major General's page.

Not familiar with many of the other second picks, will have to do some Wayback searching.

Weasel11 Oct 2015 8:37 p.m. PST

The old Portent site, back when I was into 40K a lot.

Fighting with people about 2nd vs 3rd edition, speculating on rumours. I think I even won some sort of forum award.

Khusrau14 Oct 2015 5:41 a.m. PST

Mine… from about 1998… :-)

sumerandakkad17 Oct 2015 4:47 a.m. PST

The Major General's page is accessible on the 'waybackmachine' It may not be all the posted material but has scenery and other useful information.
