"In a grand and immemsely readable synthesis of historical, political, cultural, and economic analysis, a prize-winning historian depicts much more than a break with England. He gives readers a revolution that transformed an almost feudal society into a democratic one, whose emerging realities sometimes baffled and disappointed its founding fathers"

Very interesting. I was told that it wasn't a revolution because there was no class struggle.

I am shocked it has the NYT blurb at the bottom. This doesn't fit the narrative.

Very interesting indeed.

Standard output from the NYT "Blurb-o-matic" program. Saves time from having to actually READ a book.

Hate to brake it to everyone but the American Revolution was very radical. Just read Thomas Paine.

Thomas Paine's ideas were radical. Doesn't mean the War for Independence changed who owned what, except for King George of course, and some Loyalists that were drummed out of their homes.
