Here are some ships that I have painted up for use in Full Thrust. They also have been submitted for inclusion in the upcoming civilian ship fleet book being put out by Jim Klein. System police ship. This is a Silent Death "Stinger" miniature, painted up to represent an old worn out police ship. It suffers from poor maintenance, and is in need of a paintjob. :)
The ship is another System police ship, represented by a Ravenstar Zeon frigate. It has Stealth-2, and the hull is designed to mimic the local starfield so as to make visual detection difficult.
The third ship is an asteroid prospector (or a light freighter), represented by a Brigade light freighter.
I will post more ships as I complete them. |

Very nice Billclo, Were they scratch built or bought? Please let us know.I like the freedom of civilian ships. They can look like absolutely anything and I think they add a good random element to a game. They make excellent objectives,I imagine, as something to defend in a convoy or something to attack. Well done. |

The miniatures are all commercial, no scratchbuilds. |

It has Stealth-2, and the hull is designed to mimic the local starfield Looks like it's mimicking the local dicebox. I hope you don't play with black dice, otherwise someone might try to throw the ship… |

Reminds me of the times I've played with micro armor SO well camo'd, they got missed a turn or three. I could see that happening with that ship. Or, maybe NOT see. ;->= I just picked up some Brigade Models ships; alas, no freighters. Curse my failure to overspend! Doug |

Well to be fair, I am using firing arc stickers so the ship bases are still visible. :) |

The draft copy of the civilian ship book is available on the facebook group for those that wanna take a look |

Same one you showed me, Bill? Good start, but I'm hoping others will flesh out. Personally, I think a civilian version of a battlerider system makes sense. FTL carrier to bring insystem ships, miners, processors, transports, SAR/police vessels. Something between the original 'shake-and-bake' period, and a colony can develop shipyards on their own. Sorry, a bit vague, and I've come up with no stats, but someone else might. Or, go in a completely other direction. ;->= |

Doug, the same book I sent you. I have been given this book to finish up. I've got a fair number of ships on the Facebook page to add (will be modifying some first), working on a couple other ships. The science ship miniature turned out out to be a little smaller than expected, so I will be changing that, and making two different science ships. Jim and I decided to leave the system defense ships for the book that has bases/planetary defenses, etc. |

I've got a fair number of ships on the Facebook page to add… As in others' suggestions? Hope you aren't pulling the whole load. ;->= Huge props, Jim, Bill, and all the others. Doug |

Actually all but one ship are my designs. Jim came up with another possibility. Seems no one wants to do up any SSDs and submit anything. It's a project that will take some time; it's kind of a minor fleet book. I think Jim is working on something else right now. |

Hey all. I really like the idea of a ship or 'tug' to haul around sublight ships. Any companies out there that make a model for something like that? Also, yes, billclowill be taking the lead on the civilian project. Send him lots of design ideas! |

Here is a science ship for Full Thrust. This is a NAC department of Science vessel. The miniature is a Ravenstar Thunderchild light carrier. It will be incorporated into the upcoming Civilian fleet book for Full Thrust. I also have a second, smaller, design on the workbench right now.
It also has backup solar panel arrays that are deployed to increase time spent on station by reducing power plant fuel usage. This idea was borrowed from Mongoose Traveller.

Yep, the NAC get all the cool toys; ESU scientists are lucky to get a worn-out frigate with an observation window glued (badly) on. ;->= Doug |

Started to edit, but, well, work. Don't ask about it… …to haul around sublight ships. Any companies out there that make a model for something like that? Being civilian and the risky end of colony establishment, I'd tend to make it an ugly big box or tube. Likely to be one of my model droptank conversions… Doug |

Here is a second, smaller, science ship. This is a Ravenstar Medb escort. I modified it by turning the engines around, filling in the groove with putty and attached the engines on the "pylons" on the rear hull. I also made a set of supplemental power solar panels for it, like the larger science ship.
With solar panels extended (they look better in person – the lighting is making them look more blotchy than is typically apparent):
