Anyone play Ork armored skwadrons? I be amassed a bunch of 1/48 and 1/35 models (cheap!) and will make a bunch of looted wagons. My first attempt at fielding lootas in a looted wagon with a big shoots thingy, was disasterous. No damage inflicted on my fellow competitor, and the wagon was blowed up. (Still managed to squeak a draw.)

Was wondering if the war for dakka against the tau was nothing more than weird boy propaganda.

The key to winning against Tau with Orks is green tide, Kommandos, Flyboyz & Snikrot.

Tau cannot handle the sheer numbers running across the table, Snikrot can come in from any choosen area to take out the biggest pie-plate dealer, Flyboyz jumping in and Kommandos with max Burnas wrecking havoc.

Won every game against Tau. 'course I have not played in three years, so rules changes or the newer Tau models may have nerfed all that…

Never put Loota's in a vehicle they have the range.

Looted vehicles are cool but you are better off fielding Ork Trukks.

Oh and go unbounded and field lots of squads in Trukks.

We did a battle yesterday, orks vs Tau. The orks cleaned the slate with 5-0 overwhelming victory.

I'd like to say it was my generalship, but in reality it was three critically bad die rolls in a row for the Tau. (Marker Lights just would not work.) And a deep-strike unit landed on a friendly Tau vehicle and was destroyed.

The main victory point for me was when my reserve came on following a deep-strike by Shadowsun and her two bodyguards. She took out a Kan and some troops. But I managed to fix that formation in close combat with my other Kan in a counter attack in my turn. At the same time, one of my reserves came on. Sixteen orks that could not charge, but could still shoot. The next turn they charged, and joined the scrum with 72 attacks. That many attacks are going to put a hurtin' on tau in close combat.

My Dakka Jet came on in the next turn and I landed a lot of good shots on infantry formations. Late in the game, it cleared a Tau held objective that was out in the open, stealing a victory point from the Tau.

I just finished painting another mob to get my numbers up. That gives me four at the moment with another mob of sluggas on the paint table; they should be done this week, in time for next Sunday's game. That'll give me five, though I might be able squeak out six and a get green tide going.

The buckets of dice is starting to be a pain for me, so I may use the chart another TMPer came up with.
