All, I am currently painting up Perry AWI figures for games set mostly in the Ohio Valley and Kan-tuck-ee. The militia figures are fine by and large for the settlers who followed Boone and Kenton, but what of the great men themselves? Does anyone make classic buckskin clad frontiersmen who would match in style, size and build the Perry figures? Yes, I know Perry has AWI riflemen, but to my eye, they are a bit too military in apperance. Conquest figures are gorgeous, but smaller and a bit slimmer than Perry. |

Look at the Old Glory Coreurs du Bois from the F&IW line. They're great for frontiersmen through the mountain man era. |

How about some of the Foundry Mountain Men line? link link Or are they more "modern" than you want? Jim |

For mounted frontiersmen try the Kentucky volunteers in Old Glory's Mad Anthony Wayne range. I also like the Over Mountain Men from King's Mountain. |

Kings Mountain would definitely do the trick, IF they match Perrys. |

Jim, Yes, beautiful figures but too "modern". |

Too bad Conquest don't suit you: link |

They suit me, they just don't look right with Perrys to my eye. |

Here's a photo of Perry Miniatures compared to King's Mountain Miniatures and Conquest Miniatures. To me, they all work quite well together.

The Conquest and Perry figures match up very well. I've certainly painted enough of them in my lifetime. The King's Mountain figures were designed to be "Perry Compatible" too. |

Okay, thanks to all. I decided to stick with the Perry Riflemen and ordered bare heads from Kings Mountain. |

Everything suggested play very well together on my table. But I am rather lenient about petty things like that. Why let a minor detail like being a half head shorter keep a good figure or line of figures off the table? |

I tend to be a bit anal in that regard. I really don't like to mix manufacturers. |

I had the Kenton figure from Conquest. It's a nice figure but Kenton was a big big man and should be taller. Mark |

Here would be a good one for Kenton. link It's 1/48 but like I said he was a big man. Mark |
