Though I've been painting up 20mm SCW for years, I've only played a couple of times. So when a couple of the younger guys at Treefort displayed an interest in the period, I dusted off the figs and finally set a game time. So Sunday we played a small scenario: 6 companies of Nationalist. Carlists,Falange and Legionaires attacked a village on the outskirts of Madrid. Initially the town was defended by just some POUM Militia, but reinforcements of Asaultos,International Brigades and a couple of tanks wee on the way. Suported by their artillery the Nationalists made good headway into the town just as elements the Thelmann and British Internatinal brigades arrived. The fighting was grueling. The Spanish Legionaries pushing all before them. The town was close to being cleared when the T-26's and the Assaultos arrived. After a few more bitter turns the Nationalists withdrew. I like Triumph of the Will, but it's not the best organized set of rules. We're going to try it again in a few weeks after everyone has given them a read. Photos and feedback by Stelios link link

Very nice setup and excellent figures. Are they the old Dave Alsopp Bandera Miniatures? I especially like the Carlists, very nice. While their politics couldn't be much further from mine I have always had a soft spot for the Carlists. I have TotW but like you have only played a few times and not for years at that. I must dig them out for a look. Fatman |

Beautiful figures. They really pop on the table (which is also excellent). I assume in this rule set those stands represent larger forces? Platoons? |

Fatman Yep Bandera, Primalucem A company can be 6-10 men. The figs actually represent morale more than actual numbers. |
