While setting up a Great War Spearhead II scenario this weekend, I realised I needed some 6mm entrenchment markers and managed to come up with a pretty simple version using caulking compound.

I've put a short description of how they were made here: link

They could do with a drybruh to create a bit of contrast on the soil, but think they've come up ok.
