I've started my Spanish Civil War (for 20mm Chain of Command) project and now it's time to make some terrain. Below is a tutorial for my terrain map, following a well-worn formula that you've probably seen elsewhere. It was easier than I thought it would be! link I have some Spanish houses and other goodies upcoming as well. |

Thanks! It rolls up tightly, about 4" diameter and about 58" or so tall. So far (rolling it and unrolling it twice, including a trip to the gaming store) there's been ZERO shedding, which needless to say I'm quite happy about. And surprised to be honest. Actually, I just realized I forgot to mention a step – a solid layer of watered down white glue before the base coat was applied. Between that, the spray paint and the very heavy coat of acrylic house paint, the sand is on there good and tight. |

Terrain map looks great. Good taste in Single Malt also. :) |

Looks great. what type of material did you use ? |

The material was a bit odd – it was a heavy faux-fur cloth that the fabric store had been sitting on for years. They thought it would work for me because it came apart into two parts. I'm going to try to use the other side for something else, but the cloth I used was like a distressed suede in texture (to help adhesion I hoped). Light, but with a bit more stiffness than a plain sheet. It might have been more flexible if I'd used something else, but I hoped to satisfy a bit of flexibility for sturdiness. |
