Apologies if this has been dealt with before but can anyone give a definitive answer to which french fusiliers shakos were adorned with the spherical pom pom and which had the flat disc type ( lentil type ? ). The only info i can find says the 1st battalion of a regiment wore a solid colour round pom pom and subsequent battalions had a round pom pom with white center displaying the battalion number. I can't find any information regarding whether the flat disc type was adopted by certain regiments or battalions. Thanks in advance guys

I think the flat disc type is the one with the white centre so full pom-poms = 1st battalion only…

Thanks GT, that clears up my pom pom mix up!!
Do you know if this also applies to light infantry regiments?
Many thanks
