Aren't those Foundry figures fun to paint?

Fantastic. The one great lack that these splendid Foundry range has is its lack of other armoured horses. I advice you to get a pack of Perry Gensdarmes and use the armoured horses – or just the armour within – to create some different mounts. Larger units prefer a LOT from just two or three variations instead of one version.

Otherwise Phillius stated it :-)

Thanks for the tip about the perry ones. So the foundy riders fit perry horses?

So use perry for metal armor and the foundry ones for colorful barding?

Stuart M03 Oct 2015 3:50 a.m. PST

Yep, I've done this, you can chop the Perry barding in the plastic MAA box and add a bit of green stuff like this;

With a bit of filing of the saddle and some above mentioned sculpting you can also create a good looking gendarme with foundry rider and Perry horse;

Hope that helps

Intresting! How much and complicated putty work are we talking about, I'm horrible with putty work.

Stuart M03 Oct 2015 5:11 a.m. PST

For these two I used putty to create the round boss and the strapping, other than that it was just a bit of careful cutting and filing of the plastic horse armour.

Ah well those look great!

Unlike many other combinations, the Foundry and Perry rider and mounts do work with each other (probably because even the metals were originally Perry sculpts.
BTW: The WotR armoured horse of Founry also works for the odd outdated armour.
