Save your money. I've seen this one and compared it to "Between the Imperial Eagles" from the Svensk Armeemuset. Rawkins got a lot of things wrong and evidently made some up as well.

It is fairly dated information now……….research has transformed what we think we know about our era of interest. Remember the Internet was not even a prospect when these were written. It is incredible to think how we can now swap information ( whether right or rwong hut, hopefully, based on "contemporary" ish resources.

BTW notice how this question is recorded as not showing a single response? Something wrong tonight (as last night)

Is it still crap since being 'substantially revised and updated' in 2013?

I don't know. I haven't seen the new edition.

Deadhead, it's not a matter of "dated information", but of not very thorough research. A visit, a phone call, or even a letter to Stockholm could have given Rawkins more and better information. Or even reading Dr. Young's articles in Tradition. But evidently neither he nor the author of Osprey's "Scandinavian Armies of the Napoleonic Wars" could be bothered.
