Just like to share some photos of a Greenmax factory kit I painted recently for Axles and Alloys 2 using the 10mm scale vehicles from Dropzone Commander.
link Thanks. |

Thats a great job, the weathering is wonderful. I do 10mm WWII myself. Weathering and rust seem to elude me,. I've learned to coat the work with gloss acrylic and then apply/remove paints untill I get something I like. I wont ask for a complete tutorial, but could you share a favorite tip? |

Thanks, gents. One video I found very useful of how to do weathering was this: YouTube link If there is a tip to give then it is this: weathering is really easier than we may think! Just dabs of black or red-brown paint with a small, torn-off piece of sponge (the kind you get in blister packs) on the end of a pair of tweezers can give a very satisfactory result. Also, look at photos of what you are trying to recreate on Google Image. Lastly, rust is not monochromic, so I recommend at least three colours (orange, red-brown, and dark brown) for painting rust – many modelers use more and even fancy stuff like pigments. |

Thanx Pedrobear. At least I know I'm on the right track, as I have been doing my rust in roughly the same manner. I found puting rust paint on the edge of a piece of plastic card and then touching the card to your work is a great way to do vertical lines running down the sides of a wall/tank. Especially if you cant paint a straight line. lol |

Great tip, warhawkwind! I will try that one day. |
