Hey all, I am in the process of collecting terrain suitable for my Viking/Saxon/Normans project and was wondering if anyone could recommend a company that makes excellent buildings I could use for a Dark Age village. While I do have figures on the larger side (Old Glory) I still think I'd prefer buildings more in the 25mm scale than the 28mm scale, as they tend to be a bit more realistic looking when there are other pieces of terrain on the board like hills. Thanks so much! Would love to hear your thoughts! Jared |

A building like this is fairly easy to scratch build:

I have resin buildings from Gripping Beast and Grand Manner. Both are quite nice. Grand Manner have detailed interiors and are larger than the GB buildings. The Gripping Beast buildings probably meet your request for 25mm more nearly than the Grand Manner buildings. Grelber |

I have both Grand Manner (mainly) and some Adrian's Walls buildings which do double duty for Age of Arthur and Anglo Saxons/Vikings. link adrianswalls.co.uk Grand Manner are larger and have detail inside as Grelber said, but they do seem to fill up the table quickly. The range is very extensive though and probably has (or will have) everything you want. Adrian's Walls are cheaper and less detailed but perfectly serviceable; they also allow a few more buildings on the table without it looking crowded. |

I use the MDF buildings from 4Ground. Easy to build, inexpensive and come painted! link |

I have quite a few buildings from wargamescenics.com which are the Hudson & Allen buildings. They are more 25mm than 28, but work well with my 28mm figures. |

If you're in the US and aren't too worried about historical accuracy, this kit from hobby lobby is awesome. I thatch mine with faux fur. With the coupon hobby lobby does a building ends up costing like $4 USD with thatch. link You can build a village for the cost of one building. If you need more accuracy, 4ground or any decent mdf company gets my vote. Here's a pic of my hobby lobby creation. link |

Acheson Creations make some good DA resin buildings with removable roofs. |
