My wife drove me to Michaels …

What do you guys think of the potential use for these?

I'm thinking for breaking up flat surfaces and adding texture to corridors, control panels, even for embellishing cargo containers and droids!

But what do you think they could also be used for?

I wish these were available on our side of the pond:

I can foresee loads of applications for that last one! From shutters to bunker window slits.

Nice find. I agree lots of uses for scratchbuilding and modifying existing models.

Oops. The title should have said "Greeblies".

Huh… could have sworn I replied to this.

The hex ones are nice. Could be used as visible "energy shields" elements/facings.

Also could be used for ground tiles like most of the infinity bases I have seen.

What do *I* think, Dan? Mwaahahahahaaaaa!!! Here's what I think of using precut plastic shapes for starship greeblies:

Leland,

That ship rocks! Almost makes me want to start yet more projects. Must resist. Must resist.

Well, the smaller flat pieces suggest panels, and a lot of folk use straight scribed lines, but you can find pieces of differing densities to give 'raised' panels.

Another thing I've tried, but nothing completed to show, is paper punches and thing styrene. Bewildering variety of punch cuts, and you can find different thickness from drink lids to old credit cards (takes a STOUT punch.)

The above had consistency, and you don't have to clean up the edges.

Nice thing about punch-your-own is things like letters/Braille/symbols on cup lids add more texture. Bad thing is if you use PS cement, the fumes can melt 'em flat.

Hexes remind me of some of Top Gun's tanks…

@Lion, I'm quick!evil grin

@Dan, resistance is futile! Submit and be upcycled!evil grin

@Doug, indeed, it's pretty amazing what one can do with sheet plastic and a good quality hole punch…

Well, with all the coupons from Michael's I've been getting lately, buying other shapes of the glitter/confetti is gonna be cheaper than buying a height tech hole puncher.
