I'd use a red-brown wash rather than a straight red, and highlight in orange, but he looks pretty good as-is. |

That looks pretty nice.I painted red armor by starting with a bright copper base coat and then washed with a very diluted red-brown ink and then a strong red ink. I think colored metallic armor looks great and breaks up the monotony of steel plate painting |

I looks good, but there is no shadow line where the different plates overlap. You could try a dark brown wash and remove as much as you can from the tops of the plates. |
