Studio Miniatures published a picture of the British infantry in winter gear for their First Afghan War Kickstarter

"Later this month we will be launching a mini Kickstarter campaign, it will run for approximately 21 days (depending on when we start it) and is designed to cover the British, Indian and Afghan units involved during the war."

Very nice!

I started to do something similar a few years ago using old Wargames Foundry "China" 1840s British Infantry in bell-topped shakos and ACW Union Infantry in greatcoats. I converted a handful of figures and they turned out pretty well, as seen here…

…but being able to order the ready-made variety would make it much easier.

Of course, I still have a box of Foundry China Brits and Union greatcoat figures waiting for me to cut and paste them together, so despite my love for the period I will probably not be signing up for this kickstarter, but I wish Studio Miniatures the best of luck and hope it is a BIG SUCCESS!
