You need the 2nd edition Space Marine codex. If you don't have one you can get away with the basic "Codex Imperialis" that comes with the box set. Failing that, just play with what you have and don't worry about building your army using the point system. You and your friend can agree on how to balance your games with scenario objectives and special abilities so the outnumbered or disadvantaged side still has a chance to win and it's not simply "whoever killed the most is the winner." If you don't comprende just run the above through an Ingles-to-Espanol translator, or simply ask a friend who can translate for you. Buena suerte amigo. |

I always kicked Eldar butt with a basic Marine army. Two or three squads of Tac Marines with Plasma cannons or Hvy Bolters depending on whether or not opponent likes to use vehicles or not. A squad or two of Assault Marines, and a Dreadnought armed with an assault cannon/ power fist/ Storm Bolter comb. Small command squad, I like to lead with a Chaplin. if you have the points, get a Vet Marine squad. Use lots of Plasma weapons and skip the Terminators as they are over kill against Eldar. Hope this helps :) |

My question is about if is about how can I make the best army for play versus eldar. Jump/Assault Troops Terminators with Assault Cannons Tactical Squads with Hvy Bolters 1-2 Dreadnoughts armed as Der Krieg Geist has pointed out Oh and give a decent character the Vortex Grenade. That is how my Avatar got taken out in most battles. Oh and don't get about Rad Grenades either. |

Yeah, I'd get a tech marine on a bike with a vortex grenade to take out any avatarts. I'd leave out the tactical squads and just go with a devastator squad with heavy bolters and terminator squads plus a captain. |

2-3 scout squads with heavy bolter does wonders. Also remember that napalm sticks to Eldar…. flame their characters and let them run around on fire for a while. |

flame their characters and let them run around on fire for a while. Yes and that is how my very last model died in a game way back then. Swooping Hawk Exarch who had got flamed and then spent several turns jumping around killing my opponents models trying to get that fire out. Lousy fire would not go out and finally he failed his save and died. But he took alot with him. Though nothing beats the Virus Grenade card. Lost nearly half of my army once to that and it still nearly won the game. |
