Lovely painting.
We're always on the look-out for ACW rules an ideas; are yours going to be made available? We generally play huge games with very, very simple rules, but it would be nice to have a system for smaller actions.

@uglyfatbloke: lol … interesting handle, I feel as though I've already insulted you and I haven't even typed anything yet ;-)

Yes, I will be making them available for sure. Before the end of the year for sure, if not much sooner. I think the draft I have now is working well and has most of the typos and such removed. The longer part will be taking pictures and layout … but getting there.

First, my congratulate on doing a rare think – posting an actual game on the American War-games page (yes, I realize the crossposting). Lots of chatter for a long time but very little gaming. Good job.

And great job on the game – love to see such visual feasts that are "within range" meaning most of us can get there or at least close. As opposed to those stunning artistic masterpieces that few of us can achieve.

Please be sure and have someone else check your rules as a proof reader. I know blog posts can be informal – but, whew, a lot of a typos. A lot.

Sounds like a division level game or was that just the scenario? Good luck with the rules.

The uglyfatbloke 'handle' – it's not an insult, just an observation I'm afraid.
Love the cornfield; how did you make it?

sotek48630 Sep 2015 8:10 a.m. PST

@Early morning writer: Thanks for the kind words. Yes, my blog posts are extremely informal and written quickly as I'm usually juggling kids and such when I'm writing them. The rules on the other hand are much better and I have several editors that I'm using to fix my horrible grammar and typos, so fear not! ;-)

@uglyfatbloke: lol, gotcha. Ahh, the cornfields. Matt Hilzendrager from my group made those --- and it is a very painstaking process. Essentially it is a wire core with rubber bands used for the leafs/stalks. The effect is outstanding but it does take a long time to make that many. I highly recommend looking at O scale corn stalks from JTT: auction (you can also get dried corn stalks as well). I have a bunch of these that I'm just about to base and finish up and they look outstanding.
