Comments or corrections?

I'm looking at getting into gaming colonial India and want to know what color(s) should the buildings be? I've seen them white, tan and even red. Is there a "correct" color or would it depend on the region?

No one "correct" colour. Any of those you mention would be fine.

You're right about regional differences, so you might need to be specific.

Your reference to "The Frontier" in your headline suggests an interest in either the NW or NE, which have very different architecture from one another.

If the NW, then mud walls are the norm, so tans and light browns will work. Where brick and stone are used (as on the NE) color can be that of the material, though decoration is often in color.

For some ideas, you might wish to visit TVAG's page of Indian Buildings as PDF's for card stock construction: link

You may also use Google Images (a much under utilized resource!) for photographic examples.

Good Luck!

Not sure about the frontiers, but I've seen a lot of blue buildings.
