Once again the lads at Breakthrough assault spill the beans – well a couple of spoonfuls anyway! link

That was a pretty weak update. I was hoping for more than this. :^( |

I'm enjoying seeing all the pics, whatever your position on the game the models are cracking. |

Like one of the posters on the blog, I don't take it as an eithor/or force either. I agree with coopman; not much here. |

Gotta say though, there's a bunch of kit missing for what should be available to a Soviet Tank btn. |

Odd they throw in the stats for just the HQ at the top. How many points is a typical game going to be? The new points are certainly totally different for TY. |

"Gotta say though, there's a bunch of kit missing for what should be available to a Soviet Tank btn." Rember it is fiction. Nice format though, Tally Ho! |

Why would anyone want anything other than tanks? ;) |
coopman | 28 Sep 2015 10:20 a.m. PST |
Well, you can die even quicker if you pick a mech. inf. force. Then you can move on to another table & play in another game. I'm not even sure that I understand that chart. Let's see: Two tank companies are required to be fielded. Then I can chose another tank company, or a BMP-1 MRC, or a BMP-2 MRC, or a BMP-1 recon platoon or a BMP-2 recon platoon, or a Shilka platoon, or a 2S1 battery or a SA-13 platoon. Is that correct? |

Mostly, it is an and a T72 company. The only or is whether you decide to field BMP-1 or BMP-2 units. The rest is additions you may add. |

No – the only either or is the BMP1 OR BMP2 for your Motor Rifles. You may have as many of the grey boxes as your points will allow you to pay for, edpending on how big a game you want. The clue is in the old anglo-saxon word 'OR' that's been highlighted in red…. Some careful analysis suggests that the soviet players will have an edge in the ability to choose more all-arms (combined arms) choices with the same number of points than the US team with relatively more expensive weapons… Not that I would dare give pause to those itching to write off the whole project without having even seen the rules, let alone played the game, I do like a laugh in the morning before heading off to work! |

We will have to wait and see as I don't think it is very clear from the snippets given. The assets on the formation card don't match the unit card in all cases so the assumption here is that your formation level support is in addition to that you can field on your battalion cards representing the Div Arty, Div Recce and Avn and Air Army support There isn't anything to say either way whether you are limited to only one of every light grey card or can take multiples, but only being able to have one of everything in grey would sound reasonable for reinforced battalions acting as Advanced Guard or Forward Detachments. Full platoons of Shilka or SA-13 do sound oversized but we haven't seen the model count yet so hopefully by platoon they mean a pair… Lots of guesses still so lets see what comes up next, nothing that BA have said that there is now a gap on TY stuff. |

Need some options for BRDM-2s, and BRDMs with ATGMs. Hopefully, we'll know in short order, since October is just around the corner. Any intel on a release date? I've seen rumor things might get pushed back to November, but don't know if that is accurate, or not. |

These detachment/formation cards really simplify the army selection process and are familiar enough to 40K players. |
McWong73 | 28 Sep 2015 6:13 p.m. PST |
The Shilka and SA13 would be pairs or fours per unit. |
CAG 19 | 29 Sep 2015 9:40 a.m. PST |
Four for the entire Regiment and expected to protect the Regimental Artillery Group and HQ not the lead battalion is what I meant |
