Just an estimation: In th last five years, for every miniature you bought, how many do you finish? Counting minis you MEANT to finish- I have lots I bought for parts, of to only to use a few out of a pack.

I'm probably 20:1. But in my defense, I have sold off quite a few dead/loitering projects.

I do not even want to know how this works out. I think I am getting better about purchase to painting ratio but the backlog is still rather large. Like you have sold off lots of stuff to better focus on what I do have. I have also exercised more self control in the impulse buying. When I am looking at purchasing miniatures I ask myself when will I get around to assembling and painting these. That normally gets me to put the pack down.

Looks like about, or almost 2:1

Mike

PS- or if I follow the question…. 1:2. I have painted a little more than half of what I have purchased

Purchased/Painted: 200/1

Now that I've retired, I'm getting down to 1:1.

~100:90

I had a glut in painting when we moved but didn't slow down purchasing to match it. Even when I buy a job lot for certain pieces, I go ahead and covert/paint up the rest … from threads like this, I figure somebody out there would probably like a nice, painted up set.

The rate is a lot better now that I can't afford foolish "Ooooh! Shiny!" purchases. grin
I would say the rate is 1.25/1.

Pictors Studio27 Sep 2015 4:16 p.m. PST

I probably paint about 5x as much as I purchase.

Old Contemptibles27 Sep 2015 7:13 p.m. PST

I don't want to know.

I finish the vast majority of things I buy, just one really duff purchase in the last five years.

Better now – Horribly skewed years ago

I was told there'd be no math.
