Could someone kindly point me to a good book or site with information about units/uniforms for the Boyne, please, particularly those of the French units? Thanks, Simon |

You are welcome Simon. The French regiments at the Boyne all wore the usual grey/white coats save regiment Zaulaban which being German wore blue coats with red facings. The facing colours for the other regiments is uncertain as far as I know. If you really get into the period I'd suggest Wauchope's Patrick Sarsfield and the Williamite War its a mine of info and really well written. What scale are you thinking of doing? |

Thanks chaps! Very helpful suggestions and I've been given some excellent leads on the uniforms from a series in some early WI issues. yarr68, variety, as they say is the spice of life. I had the opportunity to buy 40 or so beautiful 28mm minis off a mate and have been thinking how to organise them as units. I might just end up with 2 or 3 units, however my not inconsiderable ancients collection began with just such an ill-advised purchase! ;-) Best, Simon |
