"For Pluto nerds, Christmas is coming every week, as NASA doles out the images New Horizons has been slowly sending back since its flyby in July. Today, the New Horizons team has released the latest batch of Pluto photos and—I know it seems like we say time every time—but these photos are some of the most gorgeous yet. Just look, color! The photos from New Horizons' Multispectral Visual Imaging Camera aren't so much in full color as "extended color." The MVIC actually images in wavelengths imperceptible to the human eye, so that they can pick out details a human eye couldn't. Other photos zoom into Pluto's bizarre geological features: "snakeskin" mountains or the textured surface of Sputnik Planum. But don't take our word for it. Zoom in for yourself"
