I live in San Angel, a colonial Mexico City`s suburb. We have a plaque and a small monumento to the Irish from the San Patricio battalion as many of them were executed in that spot; very few people know it is even there. |

It never occurred to me before, but I might live in the only place in the US that covers every one of these, including the ECW. The only one I'm not 100% sure about is the French Revolution. |

We have War memorial near the Norman/Roman castle mainly for The Great War ,WW2 Here is a great site all about it camulos.com/war/memorial.htm I also wanted to ask in here if anyone else has a war memorial plaque in their work places? We have one in our place and I noticed one in a London office I worked in years ago. It had the names of those brave souls who lost their lives in the Great War. Just wondered if it was a UK thing or if firms had them made in Europe , U.S. Too?. |

Our WWI memorial, "The Response", by Sir William Goscombe John: link Boer War memorial: link Our main War memorial, originally sculpted to commemorate WWI, subsequently amended to include WWII: link Northumbrian Fusiliers & Royal Tank Regiment memorial: link Burma campaign memorial:
The Colours of the city's Battalions, in St. Nicholas' Cathedral:
Plaque to our Victoria Cross winners, (at the road junction named after Private Wakenshaw):
WWI memorials in the suburbs of Walker:
and Newburn: link Newburn also has a plaque commemorating the Battle of Newburn Ford:
There are plaques with the names of the fallen in most of the city's churches, and the distinctive Commonwealth War Graves Commission-pattern headstones in every cemetery. Older workplaces and institutions will usually have a plaque on the wall with the names of fallen members and employees. The city walls have a plaque commemorating the Siege of Newcastle in 1644. (edited to add: don't know why some of those posted links and some posted the actual pics!) |

We have a Cenotaph to commemorate all of the city's dead from ww1, ww2 and after. There is also a monument to the Perth Regiment, raised locally and served in Italy. They broke the Gothic line apparently. But the Perth Regiment is no longer in the order of battle. There is also a small monument from the large Dutch community commemorating the liberation of Holland. |

8. No official ones that I can think of really, other than the dilapidated, and neglected Cold War Ballistic Missile Silo(s) in town (actually, right next to it, e.g. a couple of blocks off the main road through the town). It'd be great if they'd restore, and/or make it safe to visit, and view, as a historical monument to the men and women who served in the military during that era. |

My town was incorporated in 1763, so we've sent a lot of young men to fight. We have memorials for #1 thru #5 |
Grelber | 24 Sep 2015 8:29 p.m. PST |
My home town has a memorial that was originally for American Civil War soldiers and sailors. It has two original cannon that are, I understand, highly pilferable. I live in a garrison town now, so there must be something around here, but it isn't coming to mind. The town next door has a nice statue commemorating WWI. Grelber |

In common with virtually every town and village in Britain, we have a war memorial erected just after the First World War. |

Frederick | 25 Sep 2015 6:22 a.m. PST |
1, 2, 3, 8, 9 In addition to the usual WWI, WWII and Korean War memorials there are very nice monuments to the Crimean War (including two captured Russian cannon) and the Boer War |
Martin Rapier | 25 Sep 2015 7:59 a.m. PST |
Along with the usual WW1 and WW2 memorials (lots of those, including the huge Yorks & Lancs Regiment one in Weston Park) we have memorials to the Boer War and the Crimea. Many of the nearby roads are named after Boer War battles. Not many AWI are ACW memorials hereabouts though. Some of the steel works have plaques:
The main Y&L memorial has over nine thousand names on it, all from one regiment….
